I had been working long hard hours, i still remeber the smell of random coffee beans, and sweet pastries forming together like some sort of hybrid creature. The smell engulfed the whole warehouse, i more than welcomed the smell. It was the only delightful part of this job, and just about everything else sucked, well not everything, we did get free food sometimes, and there were some good looking... yeah so besides that it was a pain. We worked 6 day 10 hour shifts, and got no holidays off, but the money made me endure. I will not go into detail on why this job sucked, but i am sure all of you have had one job that made you hate waking up in the morning, so at least some of you can understand. Well long story short, and to wrap things up, my stay at this job was short lived, i guess i can give some detail . The supervisors felt it necessary to fire at will to cover their own asses, and unfortunately for me i had to wipe their shit off. Well even though my stay at this job was shot lived (i forever hated cofee after this experience, not that i ever liked it) i managed to scrape enough money together to pay off some expenses, and get a car :D.
fast forward two months, it is mid January, and i had been looking at many fc rx7, which was my initial purchasing choice. I was warned about these cars, and i did not care, i just did not care. One can't deny their heart, but i did just that. I was watching television, or playing video games, but i can't really recall, it was something that involved sitting on ones ass in one place for a long time. It was around noon on Jaunary 12, 2007. My phone rang, i ignored it, i was too involved in whatever the hell i was doing. After 5 rings or so it got my attention. It was my dad, and he told me he found a little red Mazda for sale on his way home. He told me it was a Mazda miata, a 1990 Mazda miata. I was a bit put off, i was expecting an rx7. It is funny how things work out, so the following week i went to check out the car, it was a brilliant red miata with a hardtop. The location of the car was not the usual route my father took to get from work to home. i went through the normal routine when one buys a car. e.g. how much is it worth, how many miles, how many owners, mech inspection, etc. The seller wanted $2,600, but this seemed too much to me, so i started to lose interest, and it was easy to lose interest since this was not my orginal choice for a car. The seller agreed to sell it for $2,400, and he would take care of registration fees, tags and buy me a new set of tires. I agreed to his terms and got the car. I came back the following day, and picked the car up. On Januar 17, 2008 i aquired my first Mazda miata :D.
Over the months i came to love the car. I was suprised how good it ran. I would change fluids, and do routine maintenence religously, i had to with the type of driving i did. the only real problem the car gave me was a broken slave cyliner, but that was an easy fix, and since it was easier to do at that point, i also replaced the master cylinder. The car remained stock for the bettter part of a year, and it would remain that way until i felt my driving skills were ready for the next level.
Things were getting exciting, i was learning better car control. It was as if me and car were becoming one (jinba ittai). Hoewever, i got ahead of myself. I was driving beyond my capabalities, and when i came to a sweeping left turn, i was not ready. I over shot the entry speed, and the rear end started to step out, but i did not expect it, so my following reactions were not the intended ones. The car was at about a 90 degree angel facing a rock wall. I panicked and lifted off the throttle (bad move) the car quickly snaped the other way, and i did a full 180. I was going down the road reversed, but i was in too much shock to even correct at this point. A rail managed to stop the car :(.
